1. Who we are

This website is operated by African Polecat Safaris (“we”, “us”), a tour operator based in Arusha, Tanzania and registered in Tanzania. For anything about your data, write to info@africanpolecatsafaris.com or call +255 654 592 688.

2. What we collect

We only hold what you type into one of the two forms on this site.

• Enquiry form (/enquire/) — your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and country; the kind of trip, arrival date and number of days; how many adults and children are travelling and the children's ages; your budget range and interests; the itinerary you came from, if any; and any notes you add. The address of the page you submitted from is sent with it. The form's “Send via WhatsApp” button sends nothing from this site — it opens WhatsApp on your own device with the same answers written out, for you to send or not.
• Newsletter sign-up — your email address, and nothing else.
• Messages you send us — the content of any email, phone call or WhatsApp conversation, and the contact details attached to it.

We do not ask for passport details, dates of birth or payment details through this website. If a booking reaches the point of needing them, we will collect them directly and tell you why at the time.

3. Why we hold it, and on what basis

• To answer your enquiry and quote for a safari. This is pre-contractual: you asked us for something and we cannot answer without it.
• To send the newsletter, where you asked for it. That is consent, and you can withdraw it from the unsubscribe link in any issue or by emailing us.
• To keep our own records of quotes given and trips run, which is our legitimate interest as a business and, for booked travel, a legal and accounting obligation.

We do not sell your details, we do not rent them, and we do not pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

4. Cookies and tracking on this site

This site sets no cookies of its own and carries no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you have not been shown a banner. Two third parties are contacted by your browser when you use the site:

• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces the pages are set in. Your browser requests the font files from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address and the page you were on. No cookie is set.
• Web3Forms receives a form submission only at the moment you press the button, and only the fields listed in §2.

Our advertising landing page is a separate site on a separate address and does carry Google Ads tags. It has its own policy, linked from that page.

5. Who else sees it

• Web3Forms (web3forms.com) — the service that turns a form submission into an email to our inbox. It is the only processor of form data.
• Our email provider, which stores the resulting message in the info@africanpolecatsafaris.com inbox.
• Meta, if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp — that conversation is subject to WhatsApp’s own terms as well as this policy.
• The lodges, camps, airlines and park authorities named in your itinerary, but only once you have confirmed a booking and only what they need to hold it.

Some of these are outside Tanzania, so your details may be stored in the United States or the European Union.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into a booking: up to three years, because safari planning is slow and people come back. Booked trips: seven years, which is what our accounting and insurance obligations require. Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop using it for marketing. Email info@africanpolecatsafaris.com and we will answer within 30 days. There is nothing to pay and you do not need to give a reason to unsubscribe or to be deleted.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

8. Changes

If we change how any of this works — a new form, a new processor, any tracking at all — we will change this page and move the date at the top of it.
